Choosing the Right Club for You

#1 Ask other parents.

That is absolutely the only way to get accurate information about what club is right for you. There are several clubs in the area, Fort Myers Volleyball Academy, Naples Juniors, Naples Volleyball Association, Southwest Sunset, and USA South and Probably 10 more. When choosing a college, buying a car, …. You need to get all of the information by talking with people. This is no different… go to any high school match in the next week, and just ask. There are so many club players, and I guarantee the parents will be happy to share their experiences with you.   Ask the parents!

#2 Choosing a life long sport.

This is probably the thing that I take most seriously, but I am urging parents not to go to one sport and one sport only if the child wants to play more than one. I am all for athlete’s playing multiple sports. I look at it like this…. If your 14 year old daughter wants to get married next week, are you going to let her? No, obviously she has not seen enough life to choose who she will marry at that age. Why make her choose one sport when maybe softball might be her calling in sports.

….. Ask the parents!

#3 Elite, Top level, National, Super Duper….

It’s just a name.

There are just about as many ways to describe a club as there is to describe the perfect pizza. Gary Bender, one of the top coaches in the southwest Fla. Area has taken his teams to over 20 national events, and has taken 2nd place at national’s… his team name..

The Golden Gorillas. If you had to choose a club directly from the team name would you have chosen the Golden Gorillas? Probably not, unless you Ask the parents!

#4 Republicans, Democrats, Independents….

Every club has a selling point they are going to exploit. Outback steakhouse has no rules just right… McDonalds has served over 100 trillion burgers….even communism has selling points. Every club director is going to tell you how great they are. There is only one way and one way only to get your true answer…. Ask the parents!

There are so many reasons to ask parents about making a choice for your daughters.

There are a lot of emotions, financial obligations, strategies, that guessing what club is good for you is about as reliable as playing the lottery. You already have the winning ticket, you just have to……… Ask the parents!
